Position Title: Accountant 1
Under the direct supervision of Finance and Administration Manager, Accountant 1 is in charge of preparing, reconciling and analysing the accounting records and financial reports of the sub-delegation and other structures under his/her responsibility, and other administrative/financial duties assigned by the Finance and Administrative Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, book and post accounting entries in the accounting software on a regular basis as per rules.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions in accordance with financial procedures and manuals.
- Helps ensure that operations run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the fund needs of the delegation/structure.
- Ensure compliance of financial rules and controls, verification of invoices and requisite support document before settling the dues.
- Guarantee proper filing of relevant supporting documents for future follow up, inspection or audit.
- Perform integrity checks of accounting entries and account balance
- Perform cash and bank reconciliation on weekly basis at least.
- Review all financial comments/question or request for clarification received from HQ or Regional offices, prepare replies, draft answers and respond accordingly.
- Participate of monthly/yearly closing activities and be main focal key of such.
- Knows, applies, and complies with all administrative and financial procedures and deadlines linked to his/her work.
- Provide support to other departments as a standard routine and as part of financial perspective when necessary.
- Draw up cheques and letter of payment orders for bank transfers to suppliers, or cash replenishment for petty cash, in line with existing financial manual and rules.
- Identifies anomalies or other issues and reports them to his/her supervisor.
- Backup cashier position whenever needed, with adjustment of access during this period.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance or any relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar field

- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Good analytical skills, detail-orientation, and precision
- Well organized, with good planning abilities.
- Capacity to work within a team; good interpersonal skills, and ability to deal with people respectfully.
- Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office software skills (outlook, Excel Power Point, Word).
